It's true that the H5N1 virus which causes bird flu, and the H1N1 virus which causes swine flu, could mutate to become more virulent. But so could hundreds of other viruses (known and unknown) that occur in the wild. So why was H5N1 hyped in the bird flu scare a few years ago, and why is H1N1 being hyped now? Each year about 30,000-40,000 people die from ordinary seasonal flu in the U.S. alone (according to a CDC estimate) and hundreds of thousands die worldwide. But up to the end of August 2009 only a couple of thousand people worldwide had died of swine flu (with or without other medical conditions) — about 1% of the deaths worldwide due to seasonal flu. So why hype H1N1? Is it because a fortune can be made from those who invented and marketed a drug, Tamiflu, which can be presented to a gullible US and worldwide public as a cure, even though it is not? Is it also because an artificially-created public health scare can be used to "justify" legislation to enforce mandatory vaccination and the incarceration (in already-prepared detention camps) of all who refuse?

Not long ago, President Bush sought to instill panic in this country by telling us a minimum of 200,000 people will die from the avian flu pandemic, but it could be as bad as 2 million deaths in this country alone.
This hoax is then used to justify the immediate purchase of 80 million doses of Tamiflu, a worthless drug that in no way shape or form treats the avian flu, but only decreases the amount of days one is sick and can actually contribute to the virus having more lethal mutations.
So the U.S. placed an order for 20 million doses of this worthless drug at a price of $100 per dose. That comes to a staggering $2 billion.

The experts said the deaths were disturbing because the two had received early and aggressive treatment with Tamiflu and had gotten the recommended doses.

April 2009 brought "news" which must have had Rumsfeld laughing all the way to the bank: SWINE FLU HITS THE U.S.! (After a "hitherto unknown" virus caused 60 or so deaths in Mexico.)
The U.S. public and the rest of the world was immediately subjected to a controlled-panic campaign reminiscent of the bird flu and the SARS scares of previous years. Margaret Chan, director-general of the World Health Organisation, said that the disease has "pandemic potential".
This may be true. Scientists said the virus combines genetic material from pigs, birds and humans in a way researchers have not seen before. Amazing! Suddenly a deadly virus combining DNA from three different species appears from nowhere! Or really nowhere? Or perhaps from a U.S. biowarfare lab?
In response to the scare the U.S. government "released" 12.5 million of its stockpiled 50 million doses of Tamiflu, which it had previously bought from Roche, which has a manufacturing and commercialization license from Gilead Sciences Inc., the inventor of Tamiflu. Donald Rumsfeld served as Gilead's chairman from 1997 until he joined the Bush administration in 2001, and he still holds a Gilead stake valued at between $5 million and $25 million. Assuming the swine flu panic takes off (and what's to stop it?) Tamiflu, despite being worthless as a cure for any kind of flu, will be in huge demand, Roche will hardly be able to turn it out fast enough, and Rumsfeld will be in clover.

Indeed, Rumsfeld himself played a key role in hyping an outbreak of swine flu back in the 1976 when he urged the entire country to get vaccinated. ... It certainly wouldn't be the first time that deadly flu viruses have been concocted in labs and then dispatched with the intention of creating a pandemic.

In October 2005 the Pentagon ordered vaccination of all US military personnel worldwide against what it called Avian Flu, H5N1. Scare stories filled world media. Then, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld announced he had budgeted more than $1 billion to stockpile the vaccine, Oseltamivir sold under the name, Tamiflu. President Bush called on Congress to appropriate another $2 billion for Tamiflu stocks.
What Rumsfeld neglected to report at the time was a colossal conflict of interest. Prior to coming to Washington in January 2001, Rumsfeld had been chairman of a California pharmaceutical company, Gilead Sciences. Gilead Sciences held exclusive world patent rights to Tamiflu, a drug it had developed and whose world marketing rights were sold to the Swiss pharma giant, Roche. Rumsfeld was reportedly the largest stock holder in Gilead which got 10% of every Tamiflu dose Roche sold. When it leaked out, the Pentagon issued a curt statement to the effect that Secretary Rumsfeld had decided not to sell but to retain his stock in Gilead, claiming that to sell would have indicated something to hide.' That agonizing decision won him reported added millions as the Gilead share price soared more than 700% in weeks.
Tamiflu is no mild candy to be taken lightly. It has heavy side effects. It contains matter that could have potentially deadly consequences for a person's breathing and often reportedly leads to nausea, dizziness and other flu-like symptoms.

What we are dealing with is a big lie. A process of generating fake data which is then used to justify a nationwide vaccination program.
The political and corporate interests behind this Worldwide public health emergency must be the target of citizens' actions.

Those who resist such vaccines will be arrested and taken away for "isolation" in domestic prison camps. Bullshit! If the U.S. cared about "the health of people around the world" it would be providing serious money (even just a small fraction of its military budget) for anti-malarial programs, access to safe drinking water, etc. What this announcement means is that the U.S. (via WHO) plans to extend its mandatory toxic vaccination campaign to everyone in all countries, the better, of course, to eliminate Kissinger's "useless eaters".

November 2009 Update
In early November 2009 conflicting reports emerged from the Ukraine concerning a massive outbreak of some strange disease, possibly pneumonic plague. This turned out to be false (pneumonic plague, caused by a bacterium not by a virus, would have killed many thousands of people). But certainly something strange was happening.

This accomplishes two things. First, it contributes to the hype so that more people will be willing to take the vaccine. Second, with verifications not being done, it means the media won't be telling us about the second pathogen, but will tell us it's a mutation of swine flu. As the number of deaths from the vaccine-induced new pathogen begins to approach the over-stated statistics we're now getting, it will appear that the WHO was right all along. Diabolically clever.
If you want to understand the science regarding swine flu and vaccines, this is the very best video I've seen. It's a talk by a Spanish nun who is also a medical specialist in the field, and she explains the whole situation in detail. It's a bit long, and uses subtitles, but this is a matter of life and death and the video is worth watching. She makes it very clear that the vaccines should be avoided at all costs, not only because they are likely to be intentionally contaminated, but because they could not possibly be of benefit for the strain of virus we will be facing:

Preparing for Another Tamiflu Hoax? Or Something More Sinister?
Why is this man smiling? Is it because, following the precedent of Donald Rumsfeld, he is expecting to become a multi-millionaire within a few years (if he is not one already)?
An article published December 20, 2011, in the UK Independent by Steve Connor and entitled Alarm as Dutch lab creates highly contagious killer flu informs us (emphasis added) that ...
For the first time the researchers have been able to mutate the H5N1 strain of avian influenza so that it can be transmitted easily through the air in coughs and sneezes. Until now, it was thought that H5N1 bird flu could only be transmitted between humans via very close physical contact.
Dutch scientists carried out the controversial research to discover how easy it was to genetically mutate H5N1 into a highly infectious "airborne" strain of human flu. They believe that the knowledge gained will be vital for the development of new vaccines and drugs.
But critics say the scientists have endangered the world by creating a highly dangerous form of flu which could escape from the laboratory — as well as opening a Pandora's box for fanatical terrorists wishing to make a bio-weapon.
The H5N1 strain of avian influenza has killed hundreds of millions of birds since it first appeared in 1996, but has so far infected only about 600 people who came into direct contact with infected poultry.
What makes H5N1 so dangerous, though, is that it has killed about 60 per cent of those it has infected, making it one of the most lethal known forms of influenza in modern history — a deadliness moderated only by its inability (so far) to spread easily through airborne water droplets.
Scientists are in little doubt that the newly created strain of H5N1 — resulting from just five mutations in two key genes — has the potential to cause a devastating human pandemic that could kill tens of millions of people. ...
The study was carried out by a Dutch team of scientists led by Ron Fouchier of the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, where the mutated virus is stored under lock and key, but without armed guards, in a basement building.
Dr Fouchier ... [said] that it only took a small number of mutations to change the avian flu virus into a form that could spread more easily between humans.
"We have discovered that this is indeed possible, and more easily than previously thought. In the laboratory, it was possible to change H5N1 into an aerosol-transmissible virus that can easily be rapidly spread through the air," Dr Fouchier said. "This process could also take place in a natural setting. We know which mutation to watch for in the case of an outbreak and we can then stop the outbreak before it is too late. [Yeah, sure!] Furthermore, the finding will help in the timely development of vaccinations and medication."
No doubt this is not news, but still very interesting, to the Swiss pharma giant Roche (which bought the marketing rights to Tamiflu from Gilead Sciences) and other big pharma companies. All that is needed to make another fortune is
- the development by Roche or another company of a vaccine touted to be an effective antidote to the flu caused by the virus newly-created in the Netherlands
- another big scare about the dangers of the H5N1 virus mutating "in a natural setting" and the dangers of the knowledge of how to make it "[falling] into the hands of terrorists wanting to use it as a bio-weapon of mass destruction"
- a team of "terrorists" with the kind of expertise to be found at Fort Detrick or any of the many other virology labs to mass produce the virus, and
- the release of this virus in a country whose citizens can afford the price charged for the vaccine.
It looks like the Tamiflu hoax all over again, but this time with a significantly lethal-to-humans virus which potentially will have the same effect (or worse) as that responsible for the 1918-20 influenza pandemic, which reportedly killed over 50 million people.
But don't expect a vaccine before 2013. Big pharma companies have already made their obscene fortunes, so presumably the aim of this exercise is not more profit for them but rather something more sinister: global population reduction. Before the vaccine goes to market the virus must first kill several billion people, so as to reduce the population of the Earth to a number acceptable to the controlling elite. If you're still alive after that then big pharma will graciously accept your money.

As to why the global elite wants a massive global die-off, the reason is that (as Richard K. Moore has pointed out in several articles on this website, such as Prognosis 2012) the capitalist model peaked around 1970, has been producing diminishing returns to them ever since, and is now practically non-performing. A large population is necessary for capitalism to be a successful profit-making economic system because paying consumers are needed, but consumers must have the money needed to buy the products of the capitalist system, and increasingly they don't. Soon they will hardly be able to afford anything beyond the food they need to survive, and will then have become "useless eaters". So who needs them? And if they protest against the greed of the elite in large numbers (as they have been doing recently), perhaps leading to uprisings and insurrections, then they could become not just an embarrassment but a real nuisance. Better to kill them off. In the post-capitalist world the global elite needs only a slave class, to do the work needed to keep the global elite living comfortably, just as the lords of the manor needed only serfs in the feudal society of the Middle Ages — and no greater number of serfs than is required (plus, of course, a class of armed thugs to keep the serfs in their place). For the entire Earth that might be about 100 million serfs and thugs, less than 2% of the current global population. Nuclear wars would certainly kill a lot of people, directly and indirectly (via famine, etc.), but when the global elite emerged from their well-equipped underground bunkers they would still have to worry about long-lasting radioactive fallout. An influenza pandemic is so much better (and cost-effective), since it leaves the buildings intact, lasts only a few years, and there's no residual radioactivity. Definitely the way to go. The "terrorists" will need enough time to mass produce the virus for worldwide release (at short intervals, to support the official story of the spread of the virus) at the start of some flu season, but the release should occur before big pharma has had enough time produce a vaccine. Late 2012 would be good, and nicely coincides with the widespread expectation of major changes in December of that year.
The 2014 Ebola Outbreak
Ebola has already (in August 2014) spread to Nigeria, and, given the number of people traveling between Nigeria and the UK, it's likely to reach the UK before long, thence to continental Europe and Russia. And given the number of Indians traveling between Nigeria and India, it's likely to reach that country before long, thence to S.E.Asia and China.
The US has long been interested in viruses as agents of biowarfare, and (as shown above) there have been quite a few suspicions of lab-created viruses in recent years. The Ebola virus (one of at least 30 known viruses able to cause viral hemorrhagic fever syndrome) kills on average 2/3rds of people infected, a mortality rate comparable to that of the bubonic plague which killed 1/3rd of the people in Europe in the mid-14th Century. That an epidemic comparable to The Black Death could be in store for much of the world is an idea so horrible that it's understandable to refuse to consider it seriously. And it is possible that the current West African (and soon global?) Ebola epidemic has been deliberately created with the intention of causing massive fatalities in Africa, Europe and Asia, in an attempt to drastically reduce global population.
In addition to people traveling from Nigeria to other countries, there's also a lot of transatlantic travel, but if there's a major Ebola outbreak in the UK or in India then the US and Canada can simply ban all flights from Europe and Asia (but would do so only if it turns out that infection can occur via air-borne aerosols). And according to the report by CNN (referenced below) an antidote (not a vaccine) "known as ZMapp [has been] developed by the biotech firm Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc., which is based in San Diego". So if the West African Ebola epidemic is the creation of certain unknown (but evil) psychopaths with the intention of killing off most of the people in Africa, Europe and Asia, then they may be counting on a US-developed antidote to treat cases which occur in the US and Canada, at least for those people who either can afford to pay for it or are considered essential to the continuity of government.

The World Health Organization projects that 20,000 people will be infected in November. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, meanwhile, projects up to 1.4 million people could be infected by January, assuming that Ebola cases continue to increase exponentially (as they have) and are currently underreported.

Russian Military: US Killed Dozens By Bioweapon Disguised As Drug Research (2018-10-04)
The Russian Defense Ministry is accusing the United States of killing dozens of Georgians with a biological weapon after disguising it as drug research. Documents recorded the deaths of 73 people over a short period of time, indicating a test of “a highly toxic chemical or biological agents with high lethality rate.”

Kirillov has doubts that the tests, which were carried out by the Richard Lugar Center for Public Health Research near the Georgian capital Tbilisi and were said to involve clinical trials of a drug called Sovaldi, which is meant for the treatment of Hepatitis C, were actually done on the drug. The producer of the drug is Gilead Sciences, a California-based biomedical firm that recruited former US defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld as a board member in 1988, in between his two tenures as head of the Pentagon.

In 2011, Fouchier and Kawaoka alarmed the world by revealing they had separately modified the deadly avian H5N1 influenza virus so that it spread between ferrets. Advocates of such gain of function (GOF) studies say they can help public health experts better understand how viruses might spread and plan for pandemics. But by enabling the bird virus to more easily spread among mammals, the experiments also raised fears that the pathogen could jump to humans. And critics of the work worried that such a souped-up virus could spark a pandemic if it escaped from a lab or was intentionally released by a bioterrorist.
